| A couple weeks ago I went to an amazing pool party in Malibu. Lilit refuses to download pictures though, so sorry can't share the fun with you (yet)...
This Saturday co-taught the 2nd of four sessions of the course my coworker and I created: East West Connections at the Getty. The course has turned out to be so popular that not only did it make the homepage banner of the Getty website, they are asking us to repurpose the theme for next year (and maybe parlay it into exhibitions and publications and who knows what else...)!

People asking questions cuz they are riveted!
(Notice how Bryan and I totally coordinated our outfits--he in gray and white, me and white and gray.)
Just came back from a friend's BBQ. Yummy margaritas and lots of fun, but a little disconcerting to see babies and children and pregnant women at a party.
Have any of the two people who read this heard of a book on Japan and its "culture of cute"? When I was in school I heard people talking about it and forget the title of the book (or if its even still in print). I ask because I want to read it before I go to Tokyo in October... |

| This weekend was a good one. Just the fact that it existed what already quite a feat, considering that I haven't had a proper "weekend" (Saturdays and SUnday) in literally one year. But finally, this week, my schedule got changed, and so now everyother week I will get a 3-day weekend, Sat, Sun, Mon. YAYYYYYYYYY!
I was supposed to this Saturday off, but I had to co-teach (with coworker/friend Bryan) an ultra-important course at the Getty on East West connections in West European art.

It's such an eye-opening and timely topic. It went swimmingly! My mom came! (as a paid official participant!) Bryan's Mark came too and took lots and lots of pictures. He also gave us pretty lavendar and white mums and bought us lunch at Le Pain Quotidien (quiche with lots of leeks...YUUUM). After the two hour course the rest of the "work"-day went like this:
~ hour and a half lunch with Bryan and Mark ~ fieldtrip to Sprinkles with Lilit ~ two hour gym session with eliptical and crazy ping pong games with Alice, Christine, Bryan, and Lilit
~home to shower and delicious Thai food with Maurene.
Sunday wonderful Sunday started off with breakfast in Pasadena (Moulin Rouge french toast, Huevos rancheros, breakfast quesadilla, lots and lots of coffee), some shopping, then the rest of the afternoon lounging around the pool. Dinner at Spitz in Eagle Rock with Bridget (so goooooood.)
Yay the return of the weekend!!! |
